1. What is Toy & Game Design
The program aims to develop a professional and creative approach to the growing needs and aspirations in the field of education and entertainment. The program draws its strength from its trans-disciplinary nature, integrating knowledge from various disciplines both in terms of creative conceptualization as well as in terms of working with a variety of material and media.
Toy & Game Design UG Programs
At the under graduate level, there is only program offered by DSK Supinfocom called Video Game Design with 120 seats available. Game Design is a key factor in enhancing the quality of a Video Game covering all the creative techniques used to make up the game: game mechanisms, rules, emotions sought, interactivity, game play, etc. The course is split into: Foundation (3 years) and Advanced (2 years)
Careers
After the completion of their courses, the students can occupy various positions in the design industry such as Project Manager, Game Designer, Level Designer, Production Assistant etc. Students also have career prospects in video game industry in the fields of: Development Studios, Publishers, Distributors etc.
Internships & Placements
Most schools have made summer internships / projects with Companies for their students. The companies upon completion of the students’ programs employ them full time. Moreover, almost all design schools have placement cells, which arrange for on campus placement. Companies which generally recruit aspiring Toy & Game designers are: Ankama Studio, Arkane Studios, Cyanide Studio, Darkworks DTC, Eden Games, Etranges Libellules, Eugen Systems, Eversim, F4 Fandango Games, Game Consulting, Hydravision Entertainment, IP4U Kylotonn Entertainment, Microsoft and many more.
